Flags and guns, ice storms, pleasure, rage. For five years, Michael drove around rural New York with a camera. Auction houses, state fairs, rallies, diners, abandoned churches. Thousands of moving photographs from one small pocket of the country. From this archive, Abigail Browde and Michael Silverstone (600 HIGHWAYMEN) make FIVE YEARS: a sprawling, unruly live performance for four enormous screens. Images and sound collide, overlap, accumulate. Somewhere in the middle, a child is born. An America comes into view: its beauty and violence, its absurdity and tenderness. The portrait grows stranger, thornier, harder to resolve. An epic of intimacy. This is a home movie.

“I wish to hear anything that 600 HIGHWAYMEN has to say…
their guilelessness is central to their beautiful art.” – THE NEW YORKER
