Built from all the apologies the world keeps offering, from the famous and ridiculous to the deeply personal and the ones that begin every second email in our inboxes, Sincere Apologies explores what it means to apologize in a world of broken systems, failed relationships, and bureaucratic disclaimers. With gentle instructions and a surprising sense of camaraderie, audiences gradually help shape the performance by reading aloud, reflecting silently, or simply witnessing. Nothing is ever compulsory. Funny, moving, and disarmingly sincere, the show by Australian company Alternative Facts creates space for reflection, repair, and shared responsibility, finding humor, tenderness, and connection in the language of apology.
“Playfully philosophical and subtly sincere; a compelling reflection on why the simple word ‘sorry’ is so easy yet so hard to say.”
